Who can take a helicopter ride?

If you wanted to take the children or your grandparents on a helicopter tour with you, then have no fear, they can fly too!
With your permission, your child can join you in the sky. Depending on the circumstances, two children between the ages of three to 12 years may occupy a single seat.
Infants under the age of three years can also fly. Welcomed free of charge, infants must be seated on an adult’s lap during the flight’s duration.
What is classified as ‘fit to fly’?
At Sydney Helicopters, the safety of our passengers is our biggest priority. This is not only carried through our practices and procedures, but also enforced by our ‘fit to fly’ guideline.
When we say, ‘fit to fly’, we mean as long as it is safe for you to take the aerial tour, you can join in on the fun.
Certain medical conditions and health implications may stop you from flying. If you are pregnant and experiencing complications, this may also mean you might have to sit out on a helicopter ride this time around.
Not sure if you are in shape to fly? We recommend seeing your health professional and checking whether you have clearance to go on a helicopter.

Our helicopters that cater to family groups
How big is your family? At Sydney Helicopters, we often fly group transfers in and around Sydney, so hosting a large group is no trouble.
With eight helicopters in our fleet ranging in size, you can trust we will have a helicopter that can cater to your family’s needs. We have varying layouts that allow us to service your member requirements, giving you several options to fit your needs.
For a more intimate family of 4 or less, we guarantee that you’ll find a helicopter to fit with our team. Our smallest aircraft, the B206B2, can accommodate up to 4 passengers.
For the more extensive family featuring 5 or 6 members, we have several of our AS350FX2 in our fleet. This allows us to fly you and your mid-sized family around with ease.
Furthermore, we can cater to the largest of families. Seating up to 14 passengers PLUS the pilot, we can fit an extended family in one single helicopter when flying our Bell 412.
